Carpets

A new carpet is one of the quickest ways to transform a room. The fitting often takes less time than you think and there are choices for every budget.

  • Options for every budget, cheap and cheerful to truly luxurious
  • Carpet often lasts 5-10 years
  • Stain resistant options
  • Quick to fit so less disruption than other types of flooring
  • If your sub floor is a little uneven, carpet may be the most suitable option. We can check this during the estimate process.
  • Can be fitted with underlay for longer life, added comfort as well as heat and sound insulation.
  • Custom stair runners are available in a large selection
  • Complete service, all accessories can be provided and old flooring removed, please ask for details by contacting us.

Vinyl

Vinyl is an ideal, cost effective way to transform wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

  • Fast fitting
  • Sub floor preparation can be carried out if needed on the same day as the fitting
  • Thin options can feel realistic while thicker options can feel softer under foot
  • Non slip surface makes them safer to walk on when wet
  • Cheaper to supply and fit than other options like laminate or Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

Laminate

Laminate is harder wearing than vinyl and some laminate has a warranty of 10 years or more depending on where it is installed in the house. Laminate needs to be fitted with underlay and there has to be a small expansion gap around the edge of the room which is covered with beading which some people call trim.

  • Harder wearing than vinyl
  • Available in a wide range of wood, tile and pattern effects
  • Needs underlay which improves insulation for sound and heat
  • Beading is needed around the edge of the room
  • If you don't like the look of beading then the skirting boards can be removed before the floor is installed, then refitted after the laminate is installed.

Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is available in 'stick down' or 'click' together options.

  • LVT lasts a lot longer than vinyl but takes longer to install
  • No beading is needed around the edge because there is no expansion gap
  • Large areas do not need expansion joints which are needed sometimes with laminate
  • The sub-floor will need to be clear and flat. If the sub floor is uneven or damaged then it will need to be prepared. Our estimator can discuss your specific requirements during the estimate process.
  • Can be glued down
  • The benefit of a glued LVT floor is the planks can be replaced if they do get damaged unlike Laminate or click LVT.
  • Click versions are available which are very similar to laminate when it comes to fitting. Click versions are usually tougher then laminate so last longer. They are thinner than laminate so in some situations are more suitable. Click LVT needs beading around the edge and unlike stick down LVT, the click option planks can not easily be replaced if damaged.
